As an API Integration Specialist, you will design, develop, and implement API integrations to connect systems and streamline workflows for portfolio companies and clients. This remote, part-time or full-time role offers the flexibility to work with global teams, enabling you to create seamless connections between applications, platforms, and services. Job Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement API integrations to connect systems, applications, and platforms.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand integration requirements and define technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain API documentation, including endpoints, authentication methods, and data formats.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to API integrations, ensuring reliability and performance.
- Monitor and optimize API performance, ensuring scalability and security.
- Work with development teams to ensure APIs align with system architecture and business needs.
- Stay updated on emerging API technologies and trends, recommending improvements to existing integrations.
- Document integration processes, workflows, and best practices for knowledge sharing.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience accepted.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in API integration, software development, or a related role (open to less experienced candidates with strong potential).
- Skills:
- Proficiency in API development and integration (e.g., RESTful APIs, GraphQL, SOAP).
- Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or Java).
- Familiarity with API management tools (e.g., Postman, Swagger, or Apigee).
- Strong understanding of authentication methods (e.g., OAuth, API keys, JWT).
- Knowledge of data formats (e.g., JSON, XML) and web services.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Professional API Engineer, AWS Certified Developer) are a plus but not required.
