Legal Counsel

Job Description:

As a Legal Counsel, you will provide legal guidance and support to portfolio companies and clients, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations while mitigating risks. This remote, part-time role (with flexibility for full-time arrangements) offers the opportunity to work with global teams, enabling you to handle a wide range of legal matters, including contracts, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance. You will play a key role in protecting business interests and supporting strategic decision-making.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of matters, including contracts, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks, providing actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support business initiatives and resolve legal issues.
• Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations, ensuring the organization remains compliant.
• Manage external legal counsel and oversee legal proceedings, if necessary.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to strengthen legal and compliance frameworks.

Job Requirements:

• Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent; admission to the bar in a relevant jurisdiction.
• Experience: 3+ years of experience as a legal counsel or in a related role (open to less experienced candidates with strong potential).
• Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide clear, actionable advice.
  • Familiarity with international laws and regulations is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Compliance Professional) are a plus but not required.
